THE VIOLIN - ELEVATING YOUR WEDDING WITH THE PERFECT AISLE MUSIC
Imagine walking down the aisle to the sound of an elegant violin, the music sweeping through the air, and your guests turning to catch that first glimpse of you as you meet your partner's eyes. For many couples, music is the emotional core of their wedding, and I have had the privilege of helping to create those memorable moments as a wedding violinist.
I have witnessed firsthand how live music can transform a ceremony from satisfying to unforgettable. Here, we can explore how live violin music can enhance the perfect song for your entrance to the ceremony, setting the tone for the whole day.
THE EMOTIONAL IMPACT

These days, it is so easy to have pre-recorded music at any point during the day. With Spotify playlists and speakers at every point in many venues, it can be tempting to press play on “Wedding Reception Bangers,” and for many couples, that is just fine. But what if you're looking for more than just fine? What if you want the music to seamlessly flow through your day, highlighting key moments with sensitivity and emotion that match the tone and create something special to be experienced collectively by you and your guests? The only way to achieve this is by appointing a musician who has felt these moments and learned how to adapt, create, and respond as they move through your celebrations in real time.
Much like a DJ will work instinctively to keep the floor filled at your evening reception, a wedding musician can react to the situation and adjust to keep the day feeling like it belongs to you, whilst entertaining and creating lasting memories.
MEMORABLE MOMENTS
I revel in the fact that no two weddings ever feel the same. Even if two separate couples give me identical song lists or guides for their wedding music, the order in which they are played or even the way in which the performance is given would be completely individual. This is influenced by the people listening, the acoustics at the venue, whether | am playing acoustically or plugged in, and so many other contributing factors.

I have such fond memories of brides walking down the aisle to similar songs but with completely different reactions.
For example, | have played an up-tempo version of ABBA's “Dancing Queen” for which the bride literally danced down the aisle in an electric pink ball gown to cheers and whoops as she beamed at her partner. Contrastingly, | have also played a beautiful, slowed-down version of the same song with a gorgeous, spine-tingling piano accompaniment. This time, the guests watched quietly as their bride swept past them in an elegant white gown, and she held her groom's hands so tightly as they met at the wedding platform, ready to make their vows.
Both moments were equally beautiful and totally distinct - perfect for each couple.
THE PERFECT SONG
The perfect song for one couple would be the worst nightmare for another.
Deciding on the accompaniment for that brief but seminal moment is
Incredibly important and so personal. It may take a lot of research, or it may be something you've known for years. Personally, I knew when I got engaged that I would love to walk down the aisle to “Pachelbel’s Canon in D Major.” Even though it is one of the more commonly requested classical pieces I am asked to perform, I just knew the way it would make me feel on the day, and we decided it was the perfect piece for us.

I have spoken to many couples in my pre-wedding consultations who knew exactly the song they had to hear in that moment, but many who hadn't had any idea where to start.
For those couples, I always suggest listening initially to what is currently popular and what has traditionally worked so beautifully for many couples.
For example, they may consider classics such as “Ave Maria” by Schubert or “Air on a G String” by Bach. Of course, there is also the more modern route, which may guide couples towards songs such as “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri or “Can’t Help Falling In Love” by Elvis Presley.
Ultimately, if they have gotten to that point and not yet found “the one,” I suggest they should look at moments in their relationship that have been enhanced by music. Maybe they saw a film together on their first date or got engaged at a rock concert?
There are countless ways to approach things differently, so a headbanger could become a light and delicate acoustic arrangement, or a movie score could be
adapted as a solo to nod to the couple’s tastes but in a way that says ‘bridal’. Or... they could dance down the aisle to “Dancing Queen’!
The perfect entrance song is the one that will make you feel exactly the desired emotion in that unforgettable moment.
YOUR WEDDING SOUNDTRACK
No two couples are the same, so why should your music be?
I work tirelessly with my couples before their big day to ensure that what is heard throughout the event reflects them, their personalities, their history, and the way they want their guests to feel.
This may also include factors such as the style of venue, the age range of guests, and which package I am providing.
Walking down the aisle is one of the most memorable moments in your life, and having live violin music ensures it is filled with the magic it deserves.
